Coaching

SRCAC coaching for Chapter leaders utilizes an executive coaching model: a partnership designed to help a leader increase self-awareness, gain clarity on purpose, and develop strategies to facilitate actualizing their leadership vision without sacrificing their own wellbeing. The program, which typically runs annually from January to May, includes a series of individual coaching sessions along with Peer Connection Circles with other coaching participants. SRCAC also offers time- or subject-specific coaching calls.

Facilitated Retreats

Every organization needs to step away from time to time to focus on connection, reflection, and the strategic goals of the organization. SRCAC provides facilitation for staff and membership retreats tailored to align with the unique goals and needs of your Chapter. Because retreats take intentional planning, we encourage you to reach out to us 6-12 months in advance of your planned gathering.

Customized Support and Capacity Building for CAC/MDT Services

SRCAC works in concert with Chapter program staff to support MDTs and CACs in a variety of ways. At the state level, SRCAC provides consultation to Chapter staff on the design and delivery of programming and processes that support CAC and MDT functioning. Examples include customized MDT trainings, peer support groups, and facilitator trainings.

Strategic Planning

We believe an effective Chapter is grounded by a solid strategy. SRCAC’s strategic planning process has been developed over time and is tailored to fit your Chapter’s stage of growth and development. A typical process takes six months from start to finish and engages your board, staff, membership, and partners, so we encourage you to contact us up to a year in advance. If you’re already in the midst of strategic planning for your Chapter, either on your own or with consultants, we can also offer support to you and/or your consultants to support your existing process. If strategic planning is a service your Chapter would like to offer to CACs in your state, we also provide on-the-job mentorship and professional development support to Chapter staff facilitating this process.

Board of Directors Support

For Chapter directors, working with a governance board of directors can present both challenges and opportunities. For many Chapter directors, there are often more questions than answers when they try to determine:

  • “What’s my role in developing, supporting, growing, and leading the board?”
  • “What’s my part in my board’s dysfunction? In my board’s success?”
  • “How do I balance the needs and roles of both the board and the membership?”

Twice a month, SRCAC hosts calls for Chapter staff focused on various topic areas. These calls are not only an opportunity for peer connection but provide a chance for Chapters to delve into relevant and timely discussions with others in the Southern Region. Calls typically include a balance of facilitated discussion and open space for time-sensitive needs.

Once a year, Chapter executive directors in the Southern Region gather to pause, connect, and learn from one another. These annual gatherings are one of our favorite annual offerings and are a don’t-miss opportunity, whether you’re new to the role or a tenured leader.
