How We Focus Our Work

Southern Regional CAC works to facilitate excellence in service, visionary thought leadership, and exceptional organizational cultures in the CAC movement. Our vision is a CAC movement that creates transformative change by ensuring all those involved receive the support they need, from the children and families impacted by abuse to the professionals who work in their service.

Excellence in Service

Children impacted by abuse deserve our best. We focus on continuous improvement to ensure the services CACs offer to children and families are consistent, high quality, and responsive to individual and community need. We learn from 1) the voices of those impacted, and 2) evidence grounded in research and shared learning.

We assess and collaboratively respond to needs in the following areas:

  • Multidisciplinary team functioning
  • CAC services
  • Chapter leadership and service provision

Visionary Thought Leadership

The CAC movement was founded in communities—a grassroots approach. As the movement has grown and evolved, structures have formalized, and state, regional, and national partners are now part of the ecosystem. The best thought leadership happens in all directions, because e ach organization has a unique vantage point. By prioritizing thought leadership, we can continue to be a movement, learning from one another, evolving ideas, and bringing creative solutions to complex problems. We believe in power with, not power over.

Exceptional Organizational Cultures

We believe exceptional organizational cultures require proactive leadership that understands and prioritizes a positive and healthy environment for professionals doing this important work. There are challenges inherent to work in the CAC field, and establishing a strong culture that can ensure transformative change despite those challenges—not only for the organization but for the community at large.
